CIRITH UNGOL will launch their sixth full-length, Darkish Parade on October twentieth through Steel Blade Data. Losing no time to trip the molten wave they began with their 2020-released studio comeback Eternally Black, CIRITH UNGOL began writing songs for Darkish Parade as quickly as Eternally Black was launched. Then, like everybody else, they had been hamstrung by the worldwide pandemic, struggling by way of sickness, seclusion, grief, and melancholy of their quest to create darkish, vibrant artwork. However like the best warriors, they persevered. With all eight demos completed – that are included on the expanded version of the album – CIRITH UNGOL began recording Darkish Parade in October 2022. The top result’s an unrelenting triumph of pessimism and ache; a head-over-heels, Lovecraftian tumble into an abyss of horror and despair and arguably probably the most vitriolic expedition CIRITH UNGOL has undertaken up to now. Regardless of the fantasy-inspired artwork on the band’s albums and their Tolkien-derived title – the band stopped exploring sword and sorcery-related themes within the mid-’80s. Many of the topics they’ve addressed since then have been way more actual and horrifying than any ravenous make-believe creatures preventing sword-wielding warriors.
