The chaotic, heavy and difficult new album is each psychedelic and crushing, weaving a hypnotic net that mirrors the artwork on the quilt. From the Wound Spilled Fourth Fireplace is livid and transcendental, however nonetheless with loads of dynamic, traditional riffing.
“Our writing course of has at all times been collaborative, intuitive, and infrequently synchronous; usually one or one other of us brings an concept—something from a brief riff or theme to a whole music skeleton—to apply, and as the remainder of us provide enter, the music begins to tackle a lifetime of its personal,” the band clarify. “One thing distinctive for all of us about writing on this band is the environment that tends to take over throughout the artistic course of; pushed by an overarching intent, it generally feels otherworldly the way in which issues come collectively, even via sophisticated moments of navigating one another’s completely different abilities, influences, and opinions. It’s a form of melding of minds that none of us have ever actually skilled in earlier tasks.
“A lot of the lyrics are written from direct private experiences that C. (vocals) is having via religious and magical work. Thematically, the entire songs on this album, in a single type or one other, describe the drive towards and course of of achieving liberation in any respect prices and in all methods, taking a stance towards demiurgic phantasm. Among the lyrics are immediately experiential; some current components of philosophy or apply; just like the synchronicity that we discover in music creation, it occurred a number of occasions whereas scripting this report that C. offered lyrics which immediately mirrored a selected factor that one in every of us was grappling with on the time with out having shared that data with the remainder of the group. One music is a curse aimed toward these conceited fools on this world that imagine methods of despotism are fascinating and in any approach synonymous with liberation. Fuck the fascists.”
