I really like listening to people music from all over the world and actually admire bands like Altin Gun, Crimi, and Etnika who’re bringing Mediterranean sounds to the foreground.”

When it comes to the lyrical theme behind the tune, vocalist Leona Farugia explains the affect that counter-cultural Maltese determine Mario Azzopardi had on the tune as follows: “Once I was in highschool our Maltese literature instructor launched us to the playwright and writer Mario Azzopardi. I had the pleasure to interview him for a challenge that I used to be engaged on again residence and he additionally gave me an unpublished poem to maintain! Since then Azzopardi modified my world fully and Calypso is a homage to this elegant writer whom I regarded as much as all my life. Though it’s written in English, I really feel like his spirit can nonetheless be felt all through the narration.”
