Misplaced Ladies (Jenny Hval & Håvard Volden) Announce New Album, Share New Track “With the Different Hand”

Misplaced Ladies—the collaborative undertaking of Jenny Hval and Håvard Volden—have introduced a brand new album, Selvutsletter, and shared a brand new music from it, “With the Different Hand.” Selvutsletter is due out October 20 by way of Smalltown Supersound. Take a look at “With the Different Hand” under, adopted by the album’s tracklist and canopy paintings, in addition to the band’s upcoming tour dates.

Selvutsletter contains “Ruins,” a brand new music the duo shared in July.

“With the Different Hand” was impressed by Leonard Cohen and happened due to a guitar line written by Volden. Hval then, as a press launch places it, “started rearranging the chords past recognition.”

The band collectively had this to say concerning the music within the press launch: “The outcome was a construction of verse and refrain, a pop music whispering about somebody’s mysterious journey by means of a road, a constructing, and a stage. The refrain goes like this: ‘With the opposite hand I open rooms/With the primary one I write,’ describing two elements of one thing—a artistic course of, or two elements of the unconscious. Or maybe the 2 arms describe Misplaced Ladies themselves. One opens rooms, the opposite writes.”

The album is the follow-up to their 2021-released debut album, Menneskekollektivet.
