The mathy, melodic, hard-charging Tallahassee emo quartet Pool Children earned Band To Watch standing with final 12 months’s breakout self-titled album. Right this moment they’ve returned with a case of break up personalities. The brand new launch Pool Children // POOL is a break up EP that includes three songs from Pool Children and three from POOL, their hardcore alter ego. That’s proper: They launched a break up EP with themselves.

The primary three songs current Pool Children at their softest and dreamiest, subbing out their regular technical guitar prowess for an emphasis on poppy atmospherics. New providing “No Stranger” is adopted by alternate variations of Pool Children tracks “Discuss Too A lot” and “Arm’s Size.” All of the heaviness appears to have been extracted and funneled straight into the trio of POOL tracks, that are filthy, nasty, completely grotesque demise metal-adjacent immolations. I can’t make out most of the harshly screamed lyrics, however “Maintain your fucking mouth shut!” got here via loud and clear.
