Canadian Andrew Byun has received first prize on the Windsor Pageant Worldwide String Competitors, as introduced late Friday. The biennial competitors is designed to launch the careers of the following era of classical music stars.

The 25-year-old Canadian cellist obtained the prize trophy from His Royal Highness, The Duke of Edinburgh, Patron of Windsor Pageant, at Eton Faculty following the finals performances.

Cellist Andrew Byun

A local of South Korea, Byun grew up in Canada.
