Perennial Due Out September 15 by way of Woodsist
Aug 31, 2023
Woods are releasing a brand new album, Perennial, on September 15 by way of the band’s personal Woodsist label. Now they’ve shared two extra new songs from it: “Little Black Flowers” and “Day Shifting On.” Hearken to them each beneath, adopted by the band’s upcoming tour dates.
Woods have been sharing two singles at a time. When Perennial was introduced, Woods shared its first two singles, “Between the Previous” and “White Winter Melody.” Then they shared its subsequent two singles, “One other Aspect” and “Weep.”
The idea for Perennial grew from a mattress of guitar, keyboard, and drum loops by band member Jimmy Earl. Quickly after, bandmates Jarvis Taveniere and John Andrews convened at Panoramic Home to construct songs and jam out with numerous devices. The title for the album was derived from perennial vegetation, a traditional instance of nature’s loops. This notion mimics itself in Woods’ music, which is teeming with cyclic lyrics and devices. Woods carries the concept of repetition and constants all through the planes of folks and psychedelic rock they experiment with.
Woods’ final album was 2020’s Unusual to Clarify.
