British post-punk band Yard Act have shared a James Slater-directed music video for his or her new track “The Trench Coat Museum.” The band have additionally introduced a November headline tour to be added to their summer time tour dates. Watch the video under adopted by the upcoming tour dates.

“The Trench Coast Museum” was co-produced by the band and Remi Kabaka Jr. of Gorillaz and finds Yard Act embracing their extra digital facet. This observe is the band’s first new unique music since their acclaimed Mercury Prize-nominated debut album, 2022’s The Overload. “The Trench Coat Museum” remembers Yard Act’s James Smith’s response to reaching a stage of visibility, which—in Smith’s phrases—“left us open to safety and disdain simply as a lot as love and appreciation.”

He provides: “Criticism is honest sport and the web is lawless so that you gotta take it because it comes, however I undoubtedly stopped looking for myself on Twitter the day I learn that somebody wished to punch my lights out.

“‘The Trench Coat Museum’ is about how our notion of every thing shifts each collectively and individually over time at speeds we merely can’t measure within the second. Inside no matter house in society we occupy, we regularly see our personal beliefs as being on the absolute pinnacle of what must be the ‘cultural norm’ and while the fully human trait of being confident can’t be helped, it’s an absolute hindrance on our collective course of. We’re one and many others. (Are we fuck).”

Of the music video, Slater says: “The video serves as a continuation and growth of the Yard Act universe we explored on the primary album. It’s set some 30 years sooner or later on this unusual, dystopian trench coat museum wherein an enigmatic character—the customer—takes an audio guided tour. The track’s an eight-minute banger so I wished the displays to come back to life in order that we may transition from an exhibition tour to a warehouse rave. It appears like a mini-film which isn’t any accident, we see this as the primary a part of a Yard Act film that coincides with their subsequent album.”
