In a brand new interview with Disturbing The Priest, SAXON frontman Biff Byford spoke in regards to the progress of the songwriting classes for the band’s subsequent studio album. He mentioned (as transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET): “I am doing demo vocals on the brand new SAXON album. So I am simply discovering totally different concepts and issues and getting the melodies proper… I am about seven songs in now… I am simply doing demo [vocals] and listening to what the songs sound like now and never just some chords, drums and bass.”

This previous April, Biff advised Metallic Pilgrim in regards to the musical route of SAXON‘s upcoming LP: “It will be like [2022’s] ‘Carpe Diem’ and [2018’s] ‘Thunderbolt’. It will be a terrific SAXON album.”

SAXON guitarist Paul Quinn not too long ago introduced that he was stepping again from touring with the band. Because of his determination, SAXON canceled its April 2023 South American tour in addition to the looks on the Monsters Of Rock cruise. Quinn has since been changed on the street by DIAMOND HEAD‘s Brian Tatler.

Brian will be a part of fellow guitarist Doug Scarratt, bassist Nibs Carter, drummer Nigel Glockler and Byford for exhibits beginning July 7 in Athens, Greece however will proceed to be a member of DIAMOND HEAD.

SAXON‘s newest launch, “Extra Inspirations”, arrived on March 24 through Silver Lining Music. Following the discharge of “Inspirations” in 2021, “Extra Inspirations” is the second “deep dish” serving of the influences which have fed SAXON‘s immensely profitable 40-plus-year profession.

Produced by Biff, with Seb Byford serving to file the music alongside mixing engineer Jacky Lehmann, “Extra Inspirations” contains takes on RAINBOW, ZZ TOP and CREAM, in addition to “Razamanaz” by NAZARETH, THE WHO‘s “Substitute”, and URIAH HEEP‘s “Gypsy”.

Byford and Quinn are the only remaining unique members in SAXON‘s present lineup.
