Working in an expanded sense of area, Jimmy LaValle, the artistic drive behind The Album Leaf, mined his intensive and ever evolving library of musical periods to assemble the 12 tracks that will develop into The Album Leaf’s seventh studio album.

Whereas Future Falling incorporates a few of the sweeping cinematic soundscapes, glitchy electronics, and classical ambient tendencies the band is understood for, it is usually a way more subtle affair. Nimble pop motifs stream by way of a conduit of ethereal, intelligent dreamscapes floating atop delicately pulsating rhythms, polished with radiant waves of fluid synth washes amid crystalline pure manufacturing.

Infusing assorted moods starting from soothing to brooding to the merely chic, LaValle is
particularly adept at including quirky little percussive sounds and pulsating bass traces that provide a counterbalance to the majestic harmonies and provides the tracks depth, usually using ethereal electronics that present a multi-layered and textural edge.

“Mud Collects” is essentially the most recognizably Album Leaf track on the album however it’s evident that the main target is on exploring new sounds. In an effort to combine recent exterior views, songs “Afterglow” and “Close to” (that includes Grammy Award successful singer/songwriter Kimbra and Natasha Khan aka Bat For Lashes, respectively), veer off course as they embrace the misplaced use of Auto-Tune and enterprise into fairly, new age territory. However these minor inconsistencies could be neglected for the reason that bulk of Future Falling’s atmospheric melodies are participating and artful and assuredly executed with meditative and melancholic aptitude.
