The monitor was written as a tribute to bassist Ian Winkler’s father, who was combating ALS on the time. Winkler explains, “My dad was within the late phases of his struggle with ALS, so it was a really intense time for me. My grandma had additionally lately died. We had been going by way of her previous photograph albums, and there was one image of my dad as a child. I noticed the image and the place he was within the current like, ‘Holy shit, this was his future’. I used to be considering determinism and physics from a philosophical perspective. Since all of  time simply exists, we’re taking part in by way of it like a track. That’s the place ‘Your Melody’ got here from. I noticed my dad’s track from starting to finish within the image. The track was born out of loads of worry, grief, and anger.”
